General Information About Bournemouth

Intense Educational Ltd is based on the outskirts of Christchurch in Dorset, not far from the picturesque university town of Bournemouth. The Bournemouth - Christchurch conurbation with a population of 250,000 is located west of the famous port of Southampton and is home to some of our guardian families, who welcome children from our partner schools in the area and also from further afield.

Bournemouth is just 167 kilometres from London, a one and a half hour journey by road or rail. It is a popular holiday resort with English and foreign visitors alike and offers attractions to suit all ages and tastes, from lively clubs and discos to peaceful parks and miles of sandy beaches. Founded less than 200 years ago, Bournemouth has prospered from tourism, and is now home to many large insurance companies, banks, and the highest concentration of English language schools outside London.

Christchurch lies between the wooded splendour of the New Forest to the east and the wild beauty of the Dorset coastline and hills to the west enjoying a mild climate free from pollution. Famous for its 16th century Priory, Christchurch is twinned with towns in France, Germany, Hungary and New Zealand and has a thriving International Friendship Society which hosts many cultural and social events throughout the year.
